CANCER SYMPTOMS

Common clinical manifestations or symptoms that may arise are

  • Weight loss

  • Weakness or fatigue

  • CNS Alterations

  • Pain and Haematologic alterations

  • Metabolic Alterations

  • Anorexia 

When a malignant tumour is in the early stages, there are often few manifestations usually once the tumour has grown to a sufficiently large size to cause one or more of the following problems

  • Pressure on surrounding organs or nerves

  • Distortion of surrounding tissue

  • Obstruction of lumen of tubes

  • Interference with the blood supply of surrounding tissues

  • Interference with the organ function

  • Disturbance of body metabolism

  • Parasitic use of the body's nutritional supplies

Mobilization of the body's defensive responses, resulting in inflammatory changes
